L’épidémie de surdoses d’opioïdes est la plus meurtrière de l’histoire du Canada. En 2023, plus de 8 000 personnes au Canada ont perdu la vie à cause d’une surdose d’opioïdes, soit une moyenne de 22 vies perdues par jour.

Face à la menace des opioïdes qui bouleverse bien des vies et des communautés partout au pays, nous nous engageons à accroître la sensibilisation, à réduire la stigmatisation et à améliorer l’accès au vaporisateur nasal NARCAN® afin de contribuer à la lutte contre les opioïdes.

Protéger des millions de vies

Depuis 25 ans, Emergent joue un rôle de premier plan en matière de santé publique. Nous nous efforçons d’améliorer l’accès à des produits qui peuvent sauver des vies, comme le vaporisateur nasal NARCAN®. Depuis 2016, plus de 64 millions de doses de naloxone sous forme de vaporisateur nasal NARCAN® ont été distribuées aux États-Unis et au Canada, ce qui a contribué à sauver la vie de personnes victimes d’une surdose d’opioïdes.

À propos du vaporisateur nasal NARCAN®

Le vaporisateur NARCAN® contient une préparation de naloxone à usage intranasal, qui permet d’inverser rapidement les effets d’une surdose d’opioïdes jusqu’à l’arrivée de l’aide médicale.

La naloxone, l’ingrédient actif du vaporisateur nasal NARCAN®, est un médicament qui permet, lorsqu’il est administré à temps, de sauver des vies en inversant les effets d’une surdose d’opioïdes (synthétiques ou vendus sur ordonnance), comme l’héroïne et le fentanyl.
